We had a great time at the festival, which thoroughly lived to up the manifesto “no more boring films”. From the Jan Soldat retrospective to the 16 mm films in the Cinema of the Transgression, all the films challenged the status quo and questioned the norms of society in a stimulating and entertaining way. It was great to meet so many filmmakers from across the globe with such distinct styles and different approaches to the medium. I already can’t wait for next year to see what crop of films will play at the festival!
I would also like to take the time and say thank you to all that worked on the film. I could never have done it without you. Film is truly a collaborative medium and I believe the film is a testament to that.
Finally a big shout out to the jury members that voted for the film and the audience that voted for it. I’m just so pleased that the film travelled well north of the border and the issues that are tackled resonated with audiences from all backgrounds.
